“We met at a dorm room at USC on 28th Street,” Ludwig told NME. “Frat house. It was a frat house that got suspended for having some parties that they shouldn’t have had. One night, we had a little kind of get-together, and we played pool. I was at the pool table when we met.”
“I just got done playing football,” Ryan added. “I was like a few weeks removed. I don’t know if I ever met anybody from Sweden before, so we immediately started talking about fashion. I remember you had some cool shoes on, and then we started talking about music. And that’s when we kind of took off.”Â
“Yeah, you were talking about Swedish music,” Ludwig continued. “Lykke Li, Little Dragon — you were listening a lot to Lykke Li and Little Dragon.”Â
“We became friends,” Ryan said. “We would hang out and listen to music, and that was maybe before I had something for you to compose…before Locks.”
