After months of speculation, Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have finally laid to rest rumours of a heated feud.
Goggins, 53, sparked the speculation when he unfollowed his The White Lotus co-star (the duo played star-crossed lovers Rick and Chelsea) on Instagram after the show dropped, with fans speculating the pair were no longer on speaking terms.
Now, he and Wood, 31, have now done a joint interview with Variety, confirming there is no bad blood and explaining Goggins’ bold decision to hit the unfollow button.

”There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” Goggins said.
“There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”

The White Lotus cast reunite before finale that has the world talking
The Fallout star explained the only reason he hadn’t already debunked the rumours is that he and Wood hadn’t been in the same city since the whispers began, and he didn’t feel comfortable speaking on her behalf.
Wood said she never spoke out on it because she knew her words would somehow get twisted and become fuel to the fire.
“Eventually I just started to sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing,” she said.
And when it comes to the ever-so-important Instagram unfollow, Goggins explained it is all just a part of his “process”.
The Righteous Gemstones actor said when he wraps on a project, he needs to clear his mind of it and leave the work – and the people he was closely involved with during shooting – in his past for a while.
”I needed to just back away from everyone,” he said.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a f— what you think. This is my process.
“Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.”
He added that the unfollow was just his way of “saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f—ing ever”.
”I completely understand,” Wood said in response.

Goggins explained this isn’t an unusual act for him, sharing that when he wrapped Justified with Tim Olyphant he hugged him goodbye and said, ”I love you, and I hope I see you in rooms for the rest of my life”, adding he didn’t speak to the actor “for almost two years” afterwards.
“I’ve done that with every single thing that I’ve done,” Goggins said.
As far as Wood is concerned, she thinks the whole thing was blown out of proportion.
”I think it’s such a comment on where we’re at culturally,” she said.
“Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a shite about Instagram.
“Why not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?”
