Canada’s Reece Howden won ski cross gold and teammate Kevin Drury earned bronze at a World Cup on Friday at Craigleith Ski Club near Collingwood, Ont.
Howden, from Cultus Lake, B.C., finished ahead of Switzerland’s Alex Fiva in the four-man big final.

Reece Howden of Cultus Lake, B.C., finishes first and Toronto’s Kevin Drury places third in the men’s ski cross big final at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup stop in Craigleith, Ont.
Drury, from Toronto, reached the podium by holding off Florian Wilmsmann of Germany. Howden moved up to second in the season-long points chase while Drury is sixth going into Saturday’s competition at the same venue.
Switzerland’s Fanny Smith won the women’s race, topping Marielle Berger Sabbatel of France and Italy’s Jole Galli.
India Sherret of Cranbrook, B.C., took top spot in the small final to finish fifth overall and maintain top spot in the women’s ski cross standings.
