Liam Payne’s girlfriend marks first birthday since his death with special tribute


Liam Payne‘s girlfriend has paid subtle tribute to the star, five months on from his death.

While marking her first birthday since the One Direction star died in October last year, Kate Cassidy appeared to give a subtle nod to her late partner through her jewellery.

In a TikTok video, Cassidy rang in her 26th birthday with a stack of pancakes, topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a single candle.

When she went to light the candle, there was one heartwarming detail spotted on her finger that seemed to be for Payne: a ring with a letter ‘L’ and another with a heart on it beneath.

“the ring😭😭😭,” one fan pointed out in the comments.

Cassidy also marked her birthday on Instagram with unseen photos of her and Payne.

“Thankful for another year, and reflecting on the beauty of 25 – it’s a chapter that will always be apart of me. here’s to 26…” she wrote.

In her carousel grid post, Cassidy included pictures with Payne at Disneyland and on a pedal boat together at night.

Cassidy and Payne had been dating since 2022.

Payne, who was best known for being in the band One Direction, died on October 16 at the age of 31 after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina.

Cassidy first paid tribute to her late boyfriend three days after his death.

”Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
