The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood recently called out a Saturday Night Live (SNL) sketch mocking her appearance in the hit HBO show.
During the most recent episode of the sketch comedy show, a sketch called ‘The White Potus’ saw cast member Sarah Sherman imitate Wood with a pair of pronounced fake teeth, with the actress later taking to Instagram to call the sketch “mean and unfunny”.
There has been no official public comment from SNL (Wood has confirmed she received personal “apologies from SNL“), however it seems Sherman herself is trying to make amends.

Several days after calling out the sketch, Wood has posted on her story once again, this time sharing a picture of a bouquet of flowers seemingly sent to her by Sherman.
”Thank you for the beautiful flowers,” she wrote as the caption, tagging Sherman.
The sketch included a parody of various political figures, with host Jon Hamm as Robert F. Kennedy Jr alongside Sherman as Wood’s The White Lotus character Chelsea.
During a scene with Hamm and Sherman, the Mad Men star asked, “I’ve been having these insane ideas, like what if we took all the fluoride out of the drinking water? What would that do to people’s teeth?”

Sherman then showed off a comically large set of fake teeth, saying, “Fluoride? What’s that?”
“I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny,” Wood wrote soon after the episode aired in a series of Instagram Stories about the sketch, adding she “felt righteous” and “might delete [the post] later.”
“Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago,” she wrote on another slide.
“Yes, take the piss for sure – that’s what the show is about – but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?”
Wood went on to say she doesn’t mind “being taken the piss out of” when it’s done in a clever way.
”But the joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth not bad teeth,” she said.

“But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on.”
The actress also made sure to clarify she wasn’t blaming Sherman for the sketch, but was rather “hating on the concept”.
