Australian actress Clare McCann has shared the tragic news that her young son has died.
The actress, best known for her role in the Astra award-winning Channel V Australia series Blog Party, shared a picture of her late son Atreyu, along with a tribute on Instagram.
“It’s with shattered hearts that we share the passing of my beautiful son, Atreyu McCann,” the 32-year-old shared.

“He was the brightest light in my world – kind, creative, and endlessly loved,
“Right now, we are grieving a loss that words can’t hold. Please give us time and space as we process this unimaginable pain,” she requested, thanking her fans for their support and love for her son.
“We’ll share more when we’re ready. For now, please hold him in your hearts,” she requested.

Friends and fans left messages of support for the grieving mum.
The Bachelor star Juliette Herrera wrote, “I can’t believe this. Atreyu is the most shining light in this world . I’m so sorry. I know he is your whole world and you are both besties . I am so sad to read this and I am so sorry. I am praying for you and beautiful Atreyu.”
“I can’t even fathom the unbearable pain… Sending blessings and love ❤️ Please don’t hesitate to reach out – you are not alone. Lots of love and my deepest condolences Clare,” wrote actress and beauty queen Raluca-Sandra Moore.

“I’m absolutely devastated, he was such a beautiful young man. Here if you need absolutely anything gorgeous. May he rest in so much love,” another commenter shared.
“I hope you heal from these. I’m very VERY sorry for your loss. he was such a good friend to me. I understand how you feel, it’s all gonna be okay,” one of Atreyu’s friend’s wrote.
Clare has had a prolific career both on and off-screen, with her son following her lead.

The mum went on to start her own production company Cherry Productions, and is also the founder, program manager and ambassador for the Sydney Women’s International Film festival and is a journalist for Sydney outlet Eastern Suburbs Life.
Atreyu appeared in his mother’s productions, starring alongside her in film Benefited, as well as the TV series Deadly Women and short Black Truck.
The mother and son seemed very close, often attending film premieres and spending time together, according to their Instagram accounts.
The mum posted a comment on an old video of Atreyu as a baby on Instagram, writing, “I will never stop crying these tears for you. I will never stop missing you. I will never stop loving you for your beautiful kind heart. Please come back to me.”
