Reese Witherspoon‘s daughter has channeled one of her mum’s most iconic looks in her latest project.
Ava Phillippe, 25, has made her acting debut in an episode of Doctor Odyssey, a new medical drama starring Joshua Jackson and Phillipa Soo.
Phillippe’s role in the show was announced in a clip posted to the Doctor Odyssey Instagram page, which revealed she will play a character named Veronica – and eagle-eyed fans were quick to hone in on one small detail in the video.

In the video clip, Phillippe wore a pink bikini top and a colourful sarong with her hair pulled back into a loose ponytail.
Fans of Witherspoon’s 2001 hit movie Legally Blonde didn’t hesitate to point out a striking resemblance.
In the clip, Phillippe almost seemed to be channeling Elle Woods’ iconic Harvard application video, in which she wears a sparkly pink bikini and a high ponytail.

In Phillippe’s clip she also wore a silver necklace with a single ‘V’ pendant, whereas in Witherspoon’s movie her character wore a simple silver necklace with a heart pendant.
Phillippe has grown up in the public eye, born to Witherspoon and her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, with fans constantly baffled by her uncanny resemblance to her mum.
Legally Blonde cast: Then and now
Many assumed that she would take on the role of a young Elle Woods in the upcoming prequel series produced by Witherspoon’s company Hello Sunshine.
However, The Morning Show actress recently announced Lexi Minetree had been cast for the role.

“Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production,” Witherspoon posted on Instagram alongside a snap of Minetree seemingly in costume.
“Couldn’t be more excited to introduce you all to @leximinetree as Elle Woods.”
