Canada’s top hammer throwers continued to shine at the World Athletics Continental Tour in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday.
Reigning world and Olympic champions Ethan Katzberg and Camryn Rogers both won their respective events at the Kip Keino Classic.
Katzberg won the men’s title with a throw of 82.73 metres. Matija Greguric of Croatia was the next closest competitor with a throw of 76.68.
It also marked the latest win in Nairobi for the 23-year-old Nanaimo, B.C., native. Katzberg won the same event last year with a throw of 84.38, and took a second-place finish in 2023 (76.38).

Rogers started her competition by fouling in her first two throws, but she locked in for her next four attempts.
A throw of 77.93 secured the win for the 25-year-old from Richmond, B.C. Katrine Koch Jacobsen of Denmark finished in second place with a throw of 74.21.
