At 29 years of age, Courtney Eaton has starred alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names in movies like Mad Max: Fury Road and on the drama series Yellowjackets.
But before she was on a call sheet with the greats, the actress was plucked from obscurity from her hometown, Bunbury, in Western Australia.
While still in school, the Aussie caught the attention of model scout Christine Fox, who also discovered ’00s runway star Gemma Ward.

“I was 16 when I was scouted as a model. I was still in school and too young to do anything, though,” she told Teen Vogue.
Fox signed Eaton to Vivien’s Model Management.
“One moment I’m at school, the next I’m starting fashion weeks and getting more and more (modelling) jobs, the next I’m doing my first audition tape and being flown back and forth from Sydney,” Eaton said per the Daily Telegraph.
A decade on from her first movie, Eaton stars on one of TV’s most popular shows.
Read on for a look at how Eaton went from regular Aussie girl to a Hollywood rising star.
Movies and TV shows
Not many can say their first movie role was in an Oscar-winner alongside Charlize Theron, Tom Brady and Riley Keough. But that’s how it went for Eaton.
In 2015, Eaton starred in George Miller’s Mad Mad: Fury Road.

She landed an audition for the blockbuster after her agent showed Miller her headshots.
“It wasn’t until I got on set that I realised what acting actually was,” Eaton told Polyester.
Eaton was cast alongside model Abbey Lee, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as one of Immortan Joe’s five wives.
After her breakout role, Eaton moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
A year later, Eaton landed a role in another big budget movie, Gods of Egypt.
She played Raya, the on-screen love interest of another Aussie actor, Brenton Thwaites.
The film starred major Hollywood names like Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Over the next few years, Eaton continued to focus on her acting career, appearing in movies like Status Update – where she would go on to date her co-star Ross Lynch –Newness and Line of Duty.

Eaton was cast in a new television show with a female ensemble.
The show was called Yellowjackets and followed a high-school soccer team that has to survive in the wilderness after their plane crashed.
An all-star cast signed up to it, including Oscar nominee Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci and Melanie Lynskey, as well as up-and-comers like Sophie Thatcher and Ella Purnell.
But when she signed on to the show, Eaton was hesitant to commit for one reason.
“As an actor, it’s really daunting to sign your life away for however many years on a show,” Eaton told The Hollywood Reporter.
“You don’t know where the character is going to go and if they’ll still resonate with you five years into it,” she explained.

The star opted to have a recurring role in season one rather than be a series regular.
She was then promoted to a regular role for the show’s second season in 2023.
Eaton is currently starring in season three of Yellowjackets.
In 2023 she also starred in Brittany Snow’s directorial debut film, Parachute.
Relationship history
Eaton’s most public and well-known relationship was with Disney alum Ross Lynch.
The pair starred in the 2016 film Status Update together.
They reportedly dated from 2015 to 2017, calling it quits after two years.
Eaton has also been linked to cinematographer Spencer Goodall.
