Demi Moore has revealed the surprising thing she said right before losing the Oscar.
Moore, 62, was seen by many as a frontrunner for the Best Actress win at the 2025 Academy Awards for her thrilling performance in The Substance.
She led the awards season with a Golden Globe and SAG award win under her belt, but ultimately missed out on the Oscar to Anora star, Mikey Madison.

Now, in an interview with TIME Magazine as part of its 100 Most Influential People of 2025 issue, Moore said she saw it coming, telling her manager as much during the commercial break before the Best Actress was announced.
“I leaned over and whispered to my manager, ‘I think it’s going to Mikey’,” Moore recalled.
“I don’t know why I knew, but I did.

“I was so centered and calm. I didn’t feel gutted. I didn’t feel any of those kinds of things.
“I just trusted, and am in trust of, whatever is going to unfold.”
Madison won the Oscar for her performance as the titular character in Anora, which follows an exotic dancer from Brooklyn who elopes with the son of a Russian oligarch.

The star, who rose to fame in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and the fifth instalment of Scream in 2022, was the youngest actress in three decades to take home the Best Actress Oscar.
During her speech, Madison praised her fellow Oscar nominees, Moore, Cynthia Erivo, Fernanda Torres and Karla Sofía Gascón.

“I also just want to recognise the thoughtful, intelligent, beautiful, breathtaking work of my fellow nominees. I’m honored to be recognised alongside all of you,” Madison said.
The actress said the win was “a dream come true.”
Moore gave a sweet shoutout to Madison after the Oscars on Instagram.
The star said “a huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison,” writing to the young star that she “can’t wait to see what you do next ♥️”.
