Soap opera veteran Denise Alexander has died. She was 85.
The actress was best known for Days of Our Lives and General Hospital.
According to Variety, Alexander died on March 5. No cause of death has been reported.

Alexander rose to fame on Days of Our Lives as Susan Hunter Martin.
She was cast in the role in 1966 and stayed on the show until 1973.
The star then went on to join the cast of General Hospital as Lesley Webber.

Alexander was on the medical drama on-and-off for nearly five decades since the ’70s.
In a heartfelt tribute shared to the official General Hospital Instagram account, executive producer Frank Valentini remembered the star’s television legacy.
“She broke barriers on-screen and off, portraying Dr. Lesley Webber – one of the first female doctors on Daytime Television – for nearly five decades,” he said.
“It meant so much to have her reprise her role in recent years and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with her,” he continued.

“On behalf of the entire General Hospital family, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, and longtime fans. May she rest in peace.”
The post was inundated with tributes from fans.
“We will miss this beautiful soap legend,” one person wrote.

Others remembered her as a “great” and “fabulous” actress.
Across her decades in acting, Alexander also starred in the likes of Zoya and Crime in the Streets.
She was married to Days of Our Lives star, Richard A. Colla, up until his death in 2021.
They share a daughter, Elizabeth Colla.
