Foo Fighters drummer Josh Freese has shared that he is no longer a part of the band.
Taking to Instagram to share the news with followers, Freese, 52, alleged that he had been fired just two years after he was brought in to replace late drummer Taylor Hawkins.
“The Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they’ve ‘gone in a different direction with their drummer’. No reason was given,” he began.

“Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band.”
Freese went on to add that in the past 40 years of his career as a drummer he has “never been let go from a band”.

“While I’m not angry – just a bit shocked and disappointed,” he continued.
“But as most of you know I’ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I’m fine.

Freese simply captioned the post, “Well, there it is.”
Wolf van Halen left a blinking GIF in the comments section, while fellow former Foo Fighters drummer William Goldsmith had a few questions.
“Say what?” he wrote.
“Why for playing everything not only perfectly but going above and beyond what most are remotely capable of?
“I apologise but respectfully this makes absolutely no sense to me.”

Freese also took to his Instagram stories, sharing a screenshot of a bank cheque seemingly totalling $0.97.
“At least I’m currently getting fat royalty checks showing up in my mailbox,” he wrote over the image.
At the time of publishing, Foo Fighters have not issued a response to Freese’s claims.
