Since Blake first filed a legal action against Justin last year, she’s received quite a bit of misogyny-flavored backlash online. The uproar has become so persistent that Paul Feig, the director of her upcoming film Another Simple Favor, has had to step in and defend her from online trolls — twice.
Given the scrutiny she’s faced, it’s more than reasonable to wonder how Blake is handling all of it — and, thanks to a report from People, now we have some insight.
A source tells the publication she has “no regrets” about her legal moves against Justin. “This wasn’t a decision made on a whim — it was months in the making,” they claim. “She knew there would be backlash, and she prepared herself for how mentally and emotionally difficult it would be.”
“But she can’t go through life knowing she didn’t stand up to something she believed was wrong.”
The source adds that, amidst all the public drama, Blake is focusing on her family with partner and fellow Ryan Reynolds. “As a mom, she never wants her daughters to stay silent in the face of injustice. Right now she’s taking it one day at a time and staying focused on her No. 1 priority: her family.”
We’ve checked in with Blake’s reps for any further comment, and we’ll let you know if we hear back.
