Justin Bieber’s marriage to Hailey Bieber

Rumours of tension in Justin and Hailey’s marriage have been swirling since 2024, with some outlets suggesting a divorce may be on the horizon.

Hailey hosed those claims down in 2024, shortly before welcoming their first child together, when she told W Magazine that there was no truth to the rumours.

“People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one… it’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy,” Hailey said.

That didn’t stop the rumour mill from starting up again in January 2025 when Justin appeared to unfollow his wife on Instagram, where he has more than 294 million followers.

He quickly re-followed Hailey’s account and wrote in an Instagram Story: “Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. S–t is getting suss out here.”

A few months later, Hailey appeared to unfollow Justin in March.

Social media users claimed the Rhode founder unfollowed her husband’s account after he hosted an Instagram Live and reportedly deactivated, then reactivated his account.

Hailey silenced the rumours with a single Instagram comment which read: “It’s a glitch. Don’t unfollow him. Hope this helps!”

Instagram isn’t the only social media platform that has posed problems for the pair either.

A YouTube video chronicling their relationship titled ‘Hailey Bieber’s Dangerous Decade-Long Obsession’ went viral in 2025 when it was posted to TikTok as a seven-part series.

The clips contain multiple inaccuracies about the couple’s romance and paints Hailey in an incredibly unflattering light, inspiring a flood of online hate from social media users who believed the claims in the video.

Justin and Hailey first met in 2009, when she attended a meet and greet event with Justin after he performed on Today USA.

They became friends and Hailey popped up at other events and outings Justin attended through the years before they were linked romantically for the first time in 2014.

Both denied rumours they were dating then and in 2015, only to admit there was something between them in 2016 – but both said it wasn’t exclusive.

“I know that in the past I’ve hurt people and said things that I didn’t mean to make them happy in the moment,” the singer said.

“So now I’m just more so looking at the future, making sure I’m not damaging them.”

They split briefly before reconnecting in 2018, then surprised everyone when they announced their engagement in July that year.

Justin and Hailey reportedly married in a civil ceremony in September 2018, followed by a bigger ceremony in September 2019.

The newlyweds announced they were expecting their first child together in March 2024 in a sweet Instagram video, which appeared to show them renewing their vows.

Justin and Hailey welcomed a baby boy named Jack Blues Bieber in August that year.

Both are protective of their son’s privacy and have chosen to keep his face off social media.

Before his marriage to Hailey, Justin was in a years-long off-and-on relationship with singer Selena Gomez.

Justin Bieber’s health

Fans have been raising concerns about Justin’s physical and mental health for years, often in response to concerning statements or appearances from the young star.

That concern has sparked rumours that Justin is suffering from undisclosed health issues, mental illness or drug addiction. His camp deny the claims.

A representative for the singer called the rumours “exhausting and pitiful” in February 2025, adding that “people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive” despite the “obvious truth” that Justin is OK.

The singer has been open about his physical and mental health on several occasions in the past, even when it has been difficult for him.

In 2017, Justin made the difficult decision to end his Purpose World Tour months early due to mental and physical exhaustion.

Two years later, he opened up about struggling with substance abuse in a Vogue interview where he said, “I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of.

“I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed… drugs put a screen between me and what I was doing. It got pretty dark.

“I think there were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing.”

TMZ recently reported that Justin has been sober from drugs since 2014 and sometimes drinks socially.

In 2020, he told the world he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, a tick-borne illness that can cause flu-like symptoms, rash and joint pain.

Justin’s revelation came after a flood of social media posts about his appearance.

“While a lot of people kept saying Justin Bieber looks like s–t, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.

“Not only that but [I’ve] had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my, skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.”

He faced a fresh health concern in 2022, when cancelled a string of shows on his Justice World Tour due to “exhaustion”.

Soon after, Justin shared that he was suffering temporary facial paralysis due to a viral infection called Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

Though he originally planned to reschedule the missed concerts and finish the tour , the remaining shows were cancelled in early 2023.

More recently, the singer opened up about his mental health in a string of social media posts where he confessed to struggling with feelings of self-doubt and ‘anger issues’.

Justin Bieber’s career

Born in Ontario, Canada on March 1, 1994, Justin won second place in a local singing competition when he was 12.

His proud mum posted a clip of his performance to YouTube so she could send it to family and friends, not knowing music marketing executive Scooter Braun would stumbled upon it in 2008.

Braun convinced Justin’s mum to let him fly to Atlanta, Georgia to record a series of demos and just one week later, music icon Usher had taken the teen under his wing.

So began his meteoric rise to fame.

Though Justin had people like Usher to help guide him through his newfound stardom, it was a lot for the then-16-year-old to take in.

Years later, Justin confessed the pressure of entering the industry at such a young age had a lasting impact on his physical and mental health, landing him in several scandals and leading him to step back from the music industry in his mid- to late-20s after.

In 2020, he even teared up in an interview while speaking about how protective he felt of Billie Eilish, another star ushered into the spotlight at a very young age.

”It was hard for me being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn, and everyone telling me they loved me and [then] turning their back on you,” he said.

“If she ever needs me, I’m going to be here for her… people take for granted encounters and I just want to protect her.

“I don’t want her to lose it, I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that on anybody.”

That same year, Justin released a 10-episode docu-series on YouTube titled Justin Bieber: Seasons, which shed light on his music career and his personal struggles.

The series also featured many appearances from wife Hailey, including footage from their wedding.

Though Justin spent years touring and recording at the start of his career, he stepped back from the studio and the stage in 2018 to focus on his personal life, physical and mental health.

Since then, he’s preferred to stay out of the public spotlight and while he’s still making music, he hasn’t toured since 2022.

Fans have also raised concerns about Justin’s history with rapper and producer Diddy, real name Sean John Combs, who has since been accused of sex trafficking and other crimes.

The two were friendly early in Justin’s career as both had ties to Usher.

In a resurfaced clip from Justin’s YouTube page, he and Diddy speak about spending a “crazy” 48 hours together while Justin was still a minor.

“He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream,” Diddy said in the clip.

“I have been given custody of him … I don’t really have legal guardianship of him, but for the next 48 hours he’s with me. And we’re gonna go buck fool crazy.”

Justin appeared to grow apart from Diddy as he got older and his success grew. He has not commented publicly on the allegations Diddy now faces.
