Last month, multiple sources confirmed to People magazine that Lily Allen and David Harbour had split after four years of marriage, and it’s fair to say that the news wasn’t exactly a surprise for fans. In fact, Lily and David’s relationship had been at the center of tabloid speculation since before Christmas, with sources claiming that Lily had caught the Stranger Things star cheating on the celebrity dating app Raya, which is actually how they first met back in 2019.
While neither Lily nor David have publicly commented on their breakup, Lily did make it clear on her podcast, Miss Me?, that she was going through an incredibly tough time, and even took a couple of weeks away from the show to focus on her mental health. Speaking to listeners in January, Lily said that she’d been really struggling in recent months and even had to leave the team’s Christmas lunch early after she had a panic attack.
The mom-of-two has not explicitly said why she and David split, but in another episode of Miss Me?, she said that men “should probably stop acting like dicks” when her cohost, Miquita Oliver, brought up the male loneliness epidemic. And on Thursday’s episode of the show, Lily made some pretty pointed comments about men preferring to date younger women.
The star, who is turning 40 in May, told Miquita: “Aging is particularly inconvenient if you get your validation from the attention of men, which I do… They seem to like them young, don’t they?”
And while I’m sure Lily’s comments could be purely coincidental, it’s worth noting that they come just a couple of weeks after David, who will be 50 next month, was romantically linked to 27-year-old aspiring model Ellie Fallon. According to unverified reports, the two were spotted together on a New Year’s trip to India, and online gossip page Deux Moi obtained photos of David and Ellie together in February.
David has not publicly acknowledged the reports. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
