Magda Szubanksi is thanking her fans as she fights both a “rare” and “aggressive” form of cancer, as well as conspiracy theorists who believe her blood cancer diagnosis is linked to the COVID-19 vaccine.
She took to her Instagram account to share a short video message saying, ”Hello my darlings. I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the love and support.

“It’s just been so moving and, really, you are the wind beneath my wings. Thank you very much. Love you all.”
The actress got choked up as she said, “It’s pretty overwhelming, but I just feel so loved up”.
She then signed off with a “Love you, love you. Bye.”
Many took to the comments to share the love.
Actress Rebecca Gibney shared, “You are SO loved my darling. You got this”.
The Block star Sharon Johal wrote, “F—-N LOVE YOUUUUUU. And seeing that bloody gorgeous face of yours yesterday.”

Actress Olivia Stambouliah shared, “Soak that love up honey! And hope we aren’t woofie Sharon💨” referencing Kath and Kim, one of Szubanksi’s biggest roles.
Szubanksi shared a message yesterday speaking out against those who insisted that her diagnosis is a form of “turbo cancer” linking it to the vaccine despite research disproving the fact.
In 2020, the Aussie actress was involved in a COVID-19 messaging campaign launched by the Victorian government.
In the video, she appeared as her Kath & Kim character Sharon Strzelecki, saying “It’s not the lockdown that’s the enemy, it’s the virus, and the sooner we all obey the rules, the sooner this will all be over”.
She has been called a “COVID pushing tyrant” and has even been asked to “apologise for pushing the vax on others”.
Szubanski had enough of the online conspiracy theories, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share a statement.

The beloved Aussie comedian shared the devastating news of her diagnosis just a day before the rhetoric in a video posted to Instagram in which she appeared with a shaved head “in anticipation of it all falling out”.
“I have just been diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive, very serious lymphoma. It is one of the nasty ones unfortunately,” she explained.

In her caption she urged followers to not approach her when she is seen out and about due to her weakened immune system during treatment.
Instead she told fans to, “wave enthusiastically from a safe distance and know I love you madly”.
