Just days after sharing her blood cancer diagnosis, Magda Szubanski has spoken out against conspiracy theories that her cancer was caused by the Covid vaccine.
People online have referred to the Aussie actress as a “Covid pushing tyrant”, after she was involved in a Covid messaging campaign launched by the Victorian government in 2020.
In the video, she appeared as her Kath & Kim character Sharon Strzelecki, saying “It’s not the lockdown that’s the enemy, it’s the virus, and the sooner we all obey the rules, the sooner this will all be over.”

After sharing her diagnosis with followers, online comments have claimed that Szubanski’s cancer diagnosis is a form of “turbo cancer” linking it to the vaccine despite research disproving the fact.
She has even been asked to “apologise for pushing the vax on others”.
But now Szubanski has had enough of the online conspiracy theories, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to hit back at those criticising her.

“Ok. Enough! Not the conversation I want to be having right now,” she began.
“Let me be very very clear…I helped out as a good citizen to morale boost during COVID but I NEVAH EVAH was an “avid supporter of vaccinations” and categorically DID NOT insist on them for others. Why? Because – I’m not a frickin doctor!!
“I’ve seen this LIBEL repeated several times now. Lazy cut-and-paste journalism Please correct And before you at me, explaining what ‘mandatory’ means is NOT the same as enforcing it.
“This lie has gone beyond trolls and is now creeping into reports. I won’t ignore incorrect information intended to warp the narrative and the truth”.

The beloved Aussie comedian shared the devastating news of her diagnosis in a video posted to Instagram in which she appeared with a shaved head “in anticipation of it all falling out”.
“I have just been diagnosed with a very rare, very aggressive, very serious lymphoma. It is one of the nasty ones unfortunately,” she explained.
In her caption she urged followers to not approach her when she is seen out and about due to her weakened immune system during treatment.
Instead she told fans to, “wave enthusiastically from a safe distance and know I love you madly”.
