Mark Fenech death: Clowns of Decadence rocker dies aged 61 following cancer battle


Aussie rocker Mark Fenech has died at the age of 61 following a cancer battle.

Fenech, who hailed from Adelaide, was best known as the frontman of the band Clowns of Decadence.

His wife Lisa shared a message with followers on his Facebook account confirming the sad news, saying he passed away on May 20 after “he lost his fight to this insidious disease”.

She confirmed the late musician passed following a 14-month battle with bone cancer.

“It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mark Fenech also known as “Ocker Bozo” from the Clowns of Decadence,” she wrote.

“On Tuesday, the 20th of May 2025, after a long and brave battle for 14 months from a rare form of bone cancer, which sadly had spread throughout Mark’s body, he lost his fight to this insidious disease.”

“It is in Mark’s final wishes that his family’s privacy is respected at this time. I, Lisa am not on Facebook myself, however, please don’t hesitate to comment on this post or message Mark’s account to share your condolences.”

Remembering the stars we’ve lost in 2025

Messages of condolences flooded the post underneath.

On their Facebook page, Clowns of Decadence shared a heartbreaking statement and message to fans about the late rocker’s death.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that the Clowns of Decadence farewell from this planet our magnificent and infamous front man, Ockerbozo (aka. Mark Fenech),” they wrote.

“There is little that can console us from the devastation of losing our dear friend and brother in arms.”

“Mark has been a shining light in the Adelaide live music scene for the past 40 years, both on stage and working behind the scenes to support other local bands and venues.”

A funeral is due to be held today, Friday May 30, in Adelaide. He leaves behind his wife and two children.
