When you look at the biggest television hits of the 2000s, you can’t go past Desperate Housewives.
The series, which ran for eight seasons, featured plenty of faces that have gone onto have incredible careers in the entertainment industry.
But others, like former child star Mason Vale Cotton, went down a different path. You probably don’t recognise the name, but you’ll definitely know his face.

Cotton played MJ Delfino in the series, the child of Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) and Mike Delfino (James Denton), from 2008 to 2012.
In the show he started as a shy child, but once Mike died things changed and he developed into a strong young boy as he navigated grief with his mother.
Today, he’s all grown up.
In recent weeks he’s made his way back into the spotlight, thanks to fans of the show uncovering his social media account. Cotton, who is now 22, has got limited pictures on Instagram now but he’s gained a new legion of followers and fans.

Like most teens in America he’s focused on sport, and it’s clear that his passion now lies with the NFL, sharing several snaps of himself all kitted up for practice and games on his account.
Fans of his from his days on Desperate Housewives have found his account and love it.

His most recent post is from December 2024 and fans of the show can’t believe how much he’s grown up.
“Mj Mayer all grown up!!” commented one.
Another wrote, “Dang you really grew up! You and Max both wow lol makes me feel old and i’m Max’s age.”
And while he’s not the kind of person who’s constantly posting on Instagram, he has posted a couple of snaps with his girlfriend.
“A year with you. Thank you for putting up with me Kelsey. I love you,” he wrote alongside some pics of them together.
While the picture was posted in January 2024, she’s still tagged in it which hints that they are still together despite his sporadic posts about his life updates.

What other movies and TV shows did Mason Cotton feature in?
While Cotton was best known for his role playing MJ on Desperate Housewives, it’s not his only role.
The child actor continued his career and went into a role in the drama series Mad Men, as Bobby Draper.
He played Draper from 2012-2015, and scored a nomination at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2016 for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series as part of the cast.
Cotton also leant his voice to the animated film Happy Feet Two in 2011.
In 2015 he plated Max in the movie Russell Madness and in the spinoff series Russell Maniac in 2020.

In 2017, he also voiced the title character in the television film Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie.
He made a return to small screen in 2023, where he made an appearance in the series Party Down, for episode six in Series 3.
It seems as though his focus is now on his sporting future, but it looks like his acting has already given him some very big fans if he decides to head back to entertainment.
