Miley Cyrus has broken her silence on persistent rumours of a feud between her family members, particularly her parents Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus.
The 32-year-old took to her Instagram stories on May 10 to clear up the confusion, sharing a black photo with a wall of text.
“I rarely comment on rumours, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” she wrote, days after her mother Tish Cyrus allegedly unfollowed her on social media, resulting in speculation about their bond.

“She’s my best friend. Like a lot of mums, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me – simple, coincidental and uninteresting.”
The Flowers singer also shared insight on her relationship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years,” Miley said of her 63-year-old father.

“Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.”
“Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family,” she concluded her statement.
It comes just one day after her father shared an image that renewed hope that the family’s bond was repairing.

Billy Ray took to Instagram to mark his son Braison’s 31st birthday with a special selfie, posing next to his son whom he shares with ex-wife Tish Cyrus.
But Braison wasn’t the star’s only child to appear in the pic.
Also appearing in the snap was Miley herself, who was hugging her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

“Happy Birthday Braison!!!!! 🎉♥️😃” the Achy Breaky Heart singer captioned the post.
Miley, Braison, and their younger sister Noah, 25, were welcomed by Billy Ray and Tish during their marriage, which lasted from 1993 to 2022, which was when rumours of a rift began. Billy Ray also adopted Tish’s two children from her previous marriage, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 36.
Tish moved on with Aussie actor Dominic Purcell, wedding him in 2023, but news sources such as Us Magazine later alleged that her daughter Noah was romantically involved with the actor for several months before Tish started pursuing her new husband. The three have yet to acknowledge the allegations.
Billy Ray had also moved on with Australian singer Firerose, marrying her in October 2023 but divorcing her just seven months later in August 2024.

He has since begun dating actress Elizabeth Hurley, with the couple announcing their relationship on Instagram two weeks ago.
