Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino is not dead, despite reports that arose on social media that he died.
The Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood director was the subject of rumours that spread on social media site X that he had been killed in a missile attack in Israel, where he has lived off and on with his wife and children since 2020.
TMZ this morning quoted a source as saying, “Quentin is alive and well and his family is all good, too”.

Tarantino, 62, is married to Israeli singer Daniella Pick.
They first met in 2009 when Tarantino was in Israel to promote the wartime Brad Pitt film Inglourious Basterds.
They became engaged in 2017 and wed a year later during a Jewish ceremony at their Beverly Hills home.

By 2020, they were splitting their time between homes in LA and Tel Aviv.
Both their children, a son born in February 2020 and a daughter who arrived in July 2022, were born in Israel, which is now the centre of a war involving Israeli ally the USA and Iran.
An X account that boasts 150,000 followers was reportedly the first to post that Tarantino had been killed in a missile strike.
The post falsely quoted US media outlet Deadline, which has since stated it was not the source.
“Quentin Tarantino is alive and well, we’ve been told by sources close to the filmmaker, contrary to misinformation on X,” Deadline reported overnight.
“The post erroneously credited Deadline as source for the news.”

Deadline also reported “multiple AI generated images have been posted to X claiming to show Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill filmmaker Tarantino in a bomb shelter in Israel”.
“These are also false. Some of the posts have been flagged as such by Grok,” it continued.
Grok is an AI assistant developed by Elon Musk, who also owns X, partly to help users differentiate what information on the social media site is false.
However, opponents say it is often not quick to pick up falsehoods, allowing misinformation to spread.
A number of other stars have in the past had to correct false media reports they had died.
