Then sadly, when Robert was only two years old, he was forced to say farewell to his dad.
This was the final family photo before Steve’s death in 2006, shared by Bindi on Twitter in 2015.
He was killed on September 4, 2006, by a stingray while in Queensland filming for the documentary Ocean’s Deadliest.
Since then, Bindi, Robert and their mum Terri have devoted their lives to wildlife conservation to continue his legacy.
Every year, Robert celebrates his dad with his family and the world on Steve Irwin Day which is celebrated on November 15.
