Terri Irwin has shared a heartfelt message after her daughter Bindi’s emergency surgery.
Bindi’s brother Robert revealed she missed the annual Steve Irwin Gala after being rushed into surgery for a ruptured appendix on May 10 – the same day as the event.
He confirmed their mum Terri was absent as well to be by Bindi’s side during recovery.

Days after Bindi’s emergency surgery, Terri has gushed she is “so proud” of her daughter while sharing a photo of Bindi in hospital to her Instagram grid on Wednesday.
“Facing another surgery with courage and determination. Removing your appendix was expected, but also having 14 endometriosis lesions removed, and a hernia repair, was a lot,” she wrote.
“I love you so much and I know you will recover stronger than ever.”

In a candid social media post a day earlier, Bindi revealed that along with her appendix, she had 14 lesions removed and a hernia she acquired through childbirth repaired in the emergency surgery.
“Thankfully, I am on the road to recovery,” she told her 5.7 million Instagram followers.

Bindi thanked her family “for always being there for me”, giving a special shoutout to her husband Chandler and their daughter Grace.
“Thank you to Mum for being there with me every step of the way,” she thanked Terri.
Robert Irwin’s action-packed life in pictures
In March 2023, Bindi revealed she had been diagnosed with endometriosis.
She had 37 endometriosis lesions and a cyst removed two years ago.

Bindi opened up to 9Honey about her mum’s support amid her endometriosis journey in an exclusive interview in September 2024.
“She was there every step of the way for me, right down to helping me to the bathroom when I could barely walk after surgery,” she said.
“I don’t know what I would do without my incredible mama … I hope I am able to be even half the incredible mama to Grace that my mum is to me.”
