The Vampire Diaries and spin-off show The Originals are about to have a romantic crossover – and this time, it’s off-screen.
Candice King and Steven Krueger, who starred as Caroline Forbes and Josh Rosza in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals respectively, are engaged!
King confirmed the news online on Wednesday, writing on an Instagram post: “I think 38 just might be my favorite year yet.

“A couple of weeks ago @stevenakrueger gave me the best gift of all when he asked me to marry him. The privilege of getting older is much sweeter knowing I get to share it with you Steven.
“Thank you for asking me to dance through life with you. And thank you to everyone for the kind birthday wishes x (Special shout out to @catherinepowell for 📸 snapping these sweet pics at our fave.”
King shared a gorgeous selection of photos from their engagement, as the duo shared drinks and sweet gazes at each other.

She wore a bridal-style corset dress for the occasion, while he looked suave in a blazer and white shirt.
The couple had made their romance official back in December 2023, alongside a video of themselves having fun with friends and family.
“I laughed. I cried. I laughed til I cried. I loved,” she captioned the post.
“Thanks for the dance 2023 🥂.”

The couple appeared together in the final season of the vampire show The Originals, where Krueger played a college student in New Orleans who turned into a vampire.
Kreugar also stars as Coach Ben Scott on Yellowjackets.

King, meanwhile, soared to fame as Caroline in The Vampire Diaries and was in the show for its entire run. She was a crossover character in The Originals, and even appeared in the spinoff series Legacies.
She was previously married to musician Joe King of The Fray. They tied the knot in 2014 and had two daughters together; Florence, nine and Josephine, four. They split in 2022.
